'Gotham' Season 2 Cast News, Episode 7 Spoilers: BD Wong Cast As Hugo Strange; Penguin Declares War With Theo
The events in the second season of Fox's hit crime drama TV series "Gotham" are about to get even more intense and explosive as the show continues this week with an episode that will see Penguin going toe-to-toe with the Galavans. Meanwhile, a new casting report mentions BD Wong joining the series as Hugo Strange.
Citing the episode synopsis posted over at the Futon Critic for "Rise of the Villains: Mommy's Little Monster," it says that Oswald Cobblepot will finally be able to rescue his mother, Gertrude, from the clutches of Theo and Tabitha. The summary specified that it will be Butch who will lead the mob boss and his men to a warehouse where the Penguin's mother is being held captive. Fans should expect some surprising twist on this arc as the previous episode suggests that Butch might be brewing some plans with the fake philanthropist. It should be noted that Penguin mercilessly cut off his assistant's hands in hopes that Butch can infiltrate the Galavans.
Perhaps Penguin will take the rescue operation as an opportunity to show the Galavans that he is a force to reckon with in the titular city.
The synopsis also mentioned Nygma, who will be dealing with the aftermath of accidentally killing Miss Kringle in the last episode.
Meanwhile, the new casting report from USA Today says that BD Wong will be coming over to the Ben McKenzie-starred series as the character Hugo Strange.
According to the publication, Strange is a "brilliant professor and psychiatrist" who is hired to run the Arkham Asylum. However, instead of helping treat the criminally insane, the doctor is discovered to be conducting horrific experiments on inmates and examining them if they have any extraordinary abilities.
The character first appeared in "Detective Comics" No. 36 in 1940.
"Gotham" Season 2 airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on Fox.
