'Grease Live' Casting Rumors: Zac Efron Plays Danny Zuko?

Fox announced last year that it will recreate a TV version of the movie musical "Grease," which will be renamed "Grease Live." With that, so many speculations about the lead actor are arising and that includes "High School Musical" star Zac Efron.

"Grease Live" will be featuring a younger version of the characters originally played by John Travolta in 1978.

One of the characters, Danny Zuko, is a representation of talent and charisma. This role is a big role to fill.

Multiple reports suggest it could be Efron to act out the character. Last year, when asked about this possibility during his interview for "Bad Neighbors," he responded, "That's an honour. Those are big shoes to fill."
He also added: "I think I came as close to it as you could in 'High School Musical.'"

However, there are no definite announcements yet so other suggestions for the role are still circulating.

Skylar Astin, leading male voice in "Pitch Perfect," was also believed to be a strong contender. With his natural humor and charm, he could be the swooning character of Danny.

For the wildcard, Nick Jonas came up as a suggestion as well. He has the singing ability to fulfill Danny Zuko. He showed his belting high notes when she sang "Summer Nights." Then, with his reimagined macho image, this could add up to the casting factor.

For Brant Daugherty from "Dancing With the Stars," it could be a good shot as well. He was not heard singing in public yet but it is known that he can play the guitar very well and does have a strong musical ability.

"Grease Live" is Fox's second live musical remake after "The Sound of Music Live."
