'Guardians of the Galaxy 2' News: New Members Will Join Peter's Group

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" still has over a year before its premiere, and more characters are said to be joining Star Lord/Peter Quill's (Chris Pratt) unlikely group of heroes.

According to Breathe Cast, two characters from the previous movies will be brought back to join the "Guardians," and they are Yondu (Michael Rooker) and Nebula (Karen Gillan.) The website also said that a new character will be introduced, named Mantis, whol will be played by Pom Klementieff.

Fans can remember both Yondu and Nebula since Peter had to face the two in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" film. Yondu serves as a father-figure to Peter, and fans wonder how he'll become a part of the "Guardian's" team, especially after Peter numerously betrayed him. Youndu is neither good nor bad, so it is interesting to see him finally choosing a side.

On the other hand, fans know that Nebula is definitely evil since she's part of Ronan's (Lee Pace) team in the first movie, so many are finding it strange that she's set to become one of the "Guardians." The website said that some speculate that the "Guardians" may just be planning to use her to get to Thanos (Josh Brolin), while another theory says that Nebula may have an ulterior motive in joining the good guys.

Meanwhile, the new character, Mantis, is said to be a powerful telepath and also an empathy. Another power that she is rumored to have is the ability to control plant growth, which may become handy since Groot (Vin Diesel) is back to being a "baby," and she may help to bring him back to his original form.

In other news, Dave Bautista, who's formerly known as the WWE fighter "Batista," is now getting ready to get his hulking body back for his "Guardians of the Galaxy" role as Drax the Destroyer, according to Entertainment Weekly. A photo of the 47-year-old former wrestler was posted on the website, and Batista is showing off his hard muscles. The photo is captioned, "#Draxmode," and fans can't wait to see him in full battle form next year once the film premieres.

"Guardians of the Galaxy 2" is scheduled to premiere on May 5, 2017.
