'Heroes: Reborn' Super Bowl Trailer, Spoiler, News: NBC Miniseries to Feature Familiar Faces and New Ones

NBC recently stirred the public's attention when it featured the Super Bowl trailer of "Heroes: Reborn," the upcoming installment of its already-ended popular 2006 TV show "Heroes."

Although it was quite short, the snippet fulfilled its purpose of whetting the appetite of fans who have long been waiting for any update about the sequel, which was reported earlier last year to be in the works.

Reminiscent to what the network did to promote "Heroes," the Super Bowl XLIX initial teaser feature an individual, apparently a young kid, showcasing his/her ability in controlling the northern light with just the wave of hands.

Also revealed in the promo video was the popular H.R.G or Horn-Rimmed Glasses guy, whose name is Noah Bennet (played by Jack Coleman). Bennet was one of the critical characters in the first series where he was first introduced as the human father to the high-school cheerleader possessing rapid cellular regeneration abilities, Claire Bennet (Hayden Panettiere).

Speaking of cast members, a report from New York Post indicated that Zachary Levi, who was also shown in the Super Bowl video, will take the center stage in the forthcoming title.

Although it remains undisclosed, his role could be of great importance.

"I was a fan of their collective work and always thought it was such a fantastic and fun world they got to play in. With 'Heroes: Reborn,' I'm honored to have the opportunity to bring more of that world to life," Levi said.

The publication went on to say that both Coleman and Levi's characters would likely be "rounding up superhumans from the most distant parts of the globe."

As for the next show's main villain, Zachary Quinto, who played Sylar in the first series, won't be returning for Reborn.

"I'm not going back," Quinto confirmed to Buzzfeed. "[Series creator] Tim [Kring] reached out to me when they decided they were going to do it. We had a great conversation. It was such a meaningful experience for me. I just felt like I didn't want to go back to it."
