Ice Cream Sandwich Android: New OS Gets Ported To Samsung Nexus S (VIDEO)

Developers from the XDA Developers Forum have reportedly made Ice Cream Sandwich compatible with Samsung's Nexus S.

However, this update may have glitches. Ice Cream Sandwich builds for the original Nexus S and Nexus S 4G can also be found, but some of them are hacks.

Users who wish to download Google's upcoming operating system for their Nexus S can access it through the XDA Developers Forum. A few onsite directions will help users transfer the update to their smartphone.

"You’ll need to ROOT and have an environment ready for flashing a ROM," Burns told users looking to update. "If you have no idea what that means, probably you should just skip it and wait for the official update coming from your carrier."

The Ice Cream Sandwich seen on Samsung's smartphone is not complete. It is currently missing a number of home screen icons, such as the Face Unlock feature.

The reader's device was soon locked and wiped clean of all its data and features. Members of the XDA Developers Forum believed Google performed this action.

The video below highlights the many features of Ice Cream Sandwich:
