'If I Die' Facebook App Posts Messages From Beyond

A new application from Willook lets Facebook users send and post final messages after death. So far the application has over 5,000 “likes” on Facebook.

Willook asks users, “What will happen to your Facebook profile after your passing? If I die is the first Facebook application that enables you to create a video or a text message that will only be published after you die. It could be your life story, a secret you haven’t share before or even a will.”

The application requires the designation of three trustees, Facebook friends, who will be notified when a person passes. Once they verify the death, “if I die” will then publish the message on the user’s Facebook page.

Willook is a new company based in Israel that “specializes in ‘time capsule’ services and products.” It includes “a team of investors, psychologists, educators, and programmers worldwide.”

Facebook itself has several applications to memorialize the dead. Users can also create groups or pages to remember friends.
