iPhone 5 Release Date Might Have Come in October if Steve Jobs Had Not Blocked It?

Many were disappointed when Apple revealed the iPhone 4S instead of the iPhone 5 on Oct. 14. Still, others say such a move is a traditional technique exercised by Apple. However, reports claim that the iPhone 5 would have been released, if not for the late Steve Jobs, who allegedly found some faults with the fifth generation model.

An anonymous source close to Apple engineers claims that the former CEO was unhappy with the phone's bigger screen which, he thought "fragmented" the iPhones, the Daily Mail reported Tuesday. The source claims to have seen and handled a prototype of the iPhone 5.

The smartphone was described as being much flatter, with a 4-inch screen (bigger than the current and all the previous ones, all at 3.5-inch).

It is also believed that the iPhone 5 prototype was supposed to have a 10-megapixel lens and, like the iPad2, an aluminum backing.

Jobs was also reportedly concerned with a battery problem the device had, which made its power not last long enough, the source reportedly claims.

Many insiders were suspecitng that the launch of the iPhone 4S was a Internet community.
