Jeremy Lin Says He Just Wants to Be Happy Playing Basketball
Charlotte Hornets' Jeremy Lin will be an unrestricted free agent next month after he declined the $2.2 million offer to stay with the team until next season.
Early Termination of Contract
League sources reported that the 27-year-old player chose the early termination option of his two-year contract with the Charlotte Hornets. He inked the $4.3-million agreement July last year.

Lin came back to Charlotte after playing for the Houston Rockets and the New York Knicks. The Linsanity craze opened great doors for his career and opportunities to improve on his skills. During his time in Houston, Lin had an average of 12.4 points, 2.6 assists and 2.3 rebounds.
Lin Wants to be Happy
A lot of people expected this decision from the basketball star since he dropped hints of being a free agent a few weeks earlier. "To be happy, I need to consider a few things," Lin said.
He explained that among the factors he is weighing is the people he will work with and the playing style. "I am going to consider who is coaching the team, the team's style, the players on the team and their chance of winning, as well as the on-court time I have and if I have a chance to start," Lin added.
Many fans, however, thought that he would re-sign with his current team since he earlier mentioned that he did not like moving from one team to another every year. However, with this decision to enter free agency, Lin will surely have plenty of suitors asking him to join their respective lineups.
Where is Linsanity Headed?
One of the biggest teams expressing their intention to get Lin is the San Antonio Spurs. If ever the Spurs will pursue the player and end up getting him, they could offer him a starting role to help Danny Green and Tony Parker.
Another possible fit is Lin returning to the Rockets since the team now have Mike D'Antoni as their new coach. It can be remembered that he was Lin's mentor when the latter played with the Knicks in 2012.
Other teams like the New York Knicks, Portland Trail Blazers, Brooklyn News, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers are also looking to get Linsanity in their roster.
