Kelly Osbourne Bangs: Star Reveals New Hair, Talks About Drug Past (PHOTO)

Famous for switching up the hues of her hair, Kelly Osbourne debuted a new look on Thursday that, surprisingly, had nothing to do with color.

The E! host debuted her new look Thursday on Instagram. In a photo that reveals a light purple hue on top with faded blue curls on bottom, the Osbourne showed off the newest part of her haircut- bangs. Cut just below the eyebrow, the bangs stretch out in a straight line across her face.

"Just cut a fringe aka bangs what do you guys think? I love them!!!" Osbourne said in the caption accompanying her Instagram shot.

Fans were quick to show support for the reality star's new look. She quickly received over 20,000 "likes" on the photo.

Now the host of E! channel "Fashion Police," the 28-year-old said in a recent interview that times have not always been easy. Prior to working on a successful television career, Osbourne spent time in two mental institutions and seven rehab centers.

"My mom even had me put in a padded cell once to scare me," the E! host said in an August interview for the British version of Cosmopolitan magazine. "But like a brat I just sat it out until she said, 'Well, that's not going to work.'"

That would just be the beginning of Osbourne's struggle with drugs. It would take years for her to overcome the same obstacles her father had faced for more than two decades.

"I would never even tell anyone I had drugs because I wanted them all to myself. I was quite selfish," she told the magazine. "What changed for me was looking around and seeing that nobody liked me or wanted to work with me."

Her father, Ozzy Osbourne, admitted earlier this year that he had suffered a relapse and returned to drugs before trying to get clean again.

"He's an addict; I'm an addict," Kelly Osbourne said in a previous interview according to the Daily News. "It's going to be one of those things we battle for the rest of our lives."

It would take her mother suffering from a potentially lethal cancer and her father's near death car crash for Kelly to realize that she had more to do with her life than subject herself to drugs. Now in a successful relationship, she is currently engaged to chef Mathew Mosshart, and a continued presence as the host of the Oscar Awards, Osbourne has changed the direction of her life although not the wild colors of her hair.
