Kelly Overdose Suspected: Kriss Kross' Chris Kelly Took Cocaine and Heroin Before He Died, Claims Mom (VIDEO)

Chris Kelly's death may have been due to an overdose, it has been suspected, according to reports out Thursday.

According to a police report, the mother of the rapper – who was one-half of 1990s teen rap duo Kriss Kross – told authorities that her son became sick on the night before he died after taking cocaine and heroin.

Kelly was found dead on Wednesday, and now it has emerged that Kelly's mother, Donna Kelly Pratte, 54, and his uncle, Lamar Williams, 52, have reported to authorities that the music star had a history of drug abuse.

His family has said that Kelly has experienced similar episodes in the past, according to the Fulton County police report.

The 34 year old rap star was found by paramedics on his living room on a couch in Atlanta. He was given CPR, but was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

Authorities have conducted a physical examination of the rapper's body, and toxicology tests will be carried out to confirm the cause of death, Betty Honey of the Fulton County Medical Examiner's office has said.

Music producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri, who is credited with finding Kriss Kross, has released a written statement saying, "To the world Chris was Mac Daddy but to me, he was a son I never had ...,"

"When I think about it, I spent more time with Chris and Chris than damn near anybody in my whole life, so you can imagine how bad this hurts. I will always love you Chris, and I will never let the world forget you, may God bless your soul."
