Kim Kardashian Says She Deserves Fame, Claims She's a 'Liberal Republican'

Kim Kardashian's life may be an open book on her reality television show, but the silver screen star revealed in a recent interview that she is a Republican and believes she is deserving of fame.

Kardashian, 31, may have over 16 million Twitter followers but high-profile people like Barbara Walters have questioned why she is famous. The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star sat down with the Guardian to chastise those questioning the reason for her celebrity status without any conventional talent.

"When I hear people say [what are you famous for?], I want to say, what are you talking about? I have a hit TV show," Kardashian told the publication. "We've shot more episodes than 'I Love Lucy!' We've been on the air longer than 'The Andy Griffith Show!' I mean, these are iconic shows, so it blows my mind when people say that."

The reality television star who currently dates rapper Kanye West made the point that everyone could not do her job.

"But to be able to open up your life like that and to be so… if everyone could do it, everyone would," Kardashian said. "It doesn't make sense to me."

Although Kardashian's life is full of glamorous events, high-profile relationships and modeling, she insists that it isn't easy. According to the reality television star, she has skills – no matter how unconventional.

"I work really hard – I have seven appointments tomorrow before 10 a.m. I'm constantly on the go. I have a successful clothing line," Kardashian said. "A fragrance. I mean, acting and singing aren't the only ways to be talented. It's a skill to get people to really like you for you, instead of a character written for you by somebody else."

Although Kardashian tackles many lighthearted topics on her television show, she does not shy away from addressing serious matters. She recently spoke to the Guardian about voting, with the 2012 presidential elections fast approaching.

Still, it may shock some to know that Kardashian's first time voting was in the 2008 presidential election.

"I loved being part of that decision-making process, but I never voted in prior years when I was legally eligible," Kardashian said. "I don't know why."

While the reality television star told the Guardian that she is a"liberal Republican," she insists that she has no idea if her vote will go to Republican candidate Mitt Romney or Democrat Barack Obama in November.

"I don't know which way I'm going to go," Kardashian said.
