Las Palmas vs Espanyol live stream, start time: Watch Spanish La Liga online

The Spanish La Liga continues.

As the Spanish La Liga continues, Las Palmas battle Espanyol at the Gran Canaria in game week 35 of the league.

The matchup is on April 22, 2016 at 3:00 PM ET.

Both teams are currently in the bottom half of the table and are hoping to get the points they need to climb up the rankings as the La Liga comes down to its final games of the season.

They do not have anything else left to fight for in the league regarding the title or even finishing for the European spots, but both teams are trying to avoid dropping down the relegation zone.

Las Palmas are 13th in the league at the moment with 40 points. With 12 points left to play, they only have an eight point lead over Sporting Gijon who occupy the first relegation spot in the table.

This means that if Sporting can climb up and Las Palmas fail to add to their current lead, there is a big chance that they drop down the table and can also reach the bottom three that would bring them down to the second division in Spain.

Their form suggests that they are really trying to avoid that, as they have only lost once in their last five league games.

This includes a win over Valencia and a draw against Sporting Gijon.

However, their last game was a 1-0 loss to Real Betis and Las Palmas must try to bounce back and get three points over Espanyol.

Sitting 15th in the league, Espanyol have had a tougher spell as of late.

With 37 points and only five points clear of the relegation zone, they are very much in danger of dropping out.

Furthermore, they have failed to win in their last four league games, drawing against Malaga and Celta de Vigo, while losing to Atletico Madrid and Levante.

In their first meeting this season, Espanyol took a 1-0 victory at home.
