'Lethal Weapon' Spoilers: Hilarie Burton's Character Set to Return

Comedy-action series "Lethal Weapon" is finally back with a brand new season, and it looks like a familiar face is returning to the show as well.

When season 2 premiered this week, the show took the viewers to Mexico. Detective Roger Murtaugh (Damon Wayans) was seen scouring Mexico as he searched for his partner, Martin Riggs (Clayne Crawford). The latter is looking to get revenge against the drug dealer Tito Flores (Danny Mora), who was responsible for the death of his pregnant wife.

Riggs chased after the criminal, killed his men, and was about to shoot him dead, too, until Murtaugh found him and tried to convince him to do things the right way. After some more persuasion, Riggs finally put his gun down.

The episode ended with Murtaugh and Riggs taking on the entire cartel at Flores' funeral, with a lot of funny, thrilling, and emotional moments, as well as lots of action, in between.

Meanwhile, TV Line recently spoke with executive producer Matt Miller. During the interview, he teased Hilarie Burton's return as DEA Agent Karen Palmer.

It can be recalled that Palmer and Riggs have something going on in season 1. And now that Riggs is trying to live a normal life and do normal things, which includes dating, he is going to find a way to lure her back to town. And because of his personality, he will not just call her to invite her over. Instead, he is said to use a different strategy, which involves a case.

"She, of course, realizes that he's just been brought in because he wants to make something happen romantically, and we have a couple of episodes of them together, which is great," Miller told the publication.

When "Lethal Weapon" season 2 returns next week, the latest promo video teases that Riggs and Murtaugh are going to be responding to the death of a plastic surgeon, which will draw them into a case that involves an illegal drug trade taking place in a wellness clinic.

Also, this is going to be the episode where Palmer returns.

"Lethal Weapon" airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on FOX.
