LG G4 Pro Specs, News: LG Building A Premium Version With Metal Casing?
LG is already working to unveil in the second half of this year a new, higher-end version of its current flagship, LG G4. A report from Phone Arena said that this might be called the G4 Pro and it could be made out of metal.
Korean publication ET News stated that the South Korean tech giant is opting to make the alleged device with the said material for it to stand out from its regular sister handset, the G4, which is found to be made from plastic with an optional leather back covers.
Some tech enthusiasts believe that the premium material should be tested on "niche models" first before applying it to the mainstream products, however.
"Their thinking is that they should secure know-how and verify quality by first applying metal cases onto niche models," ET News wrote.
With the goal to set itself apart from the other big phone manufacturers like Samsung and Apple, one analyst from the Korean stock market said that LG needs to use different alloy or different surface processing method in order for it to stand out. The reason given is that metal casing has slowly already becoming the norm.
Phone Arena was quick to speculate on the story, saying that the G4 Pro would likely be "larger than the regular G4" and that it might also have a stylus pen which would eventually allow the company to compete with Samsung's upcoming phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5.
