LG K7 News: LG To Launch Another Budget Smartphone In 2016
South Korean device manufacturer LG is said to be already working on the phones that it plans to launch in 2016. If reports are true, among the first phones that the company will be releasing is another budget smartphone called the LG K7. According to a report in Venture Beat, their sources revealed that the LG K7 will be available via one or more mobile carriers in the U.S.
The device currently has a codename M1. Among the specs of the device that were shared by the report's sources is a five-inch display which will have a resolution of 480 x 854 pixels FWVGA. Another is the device's processor, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 which is clocked at 1.1 GHz. This processor is paired with 1.5 GB of RAM.
Internal storage is somewhat limited with only 8 GB on-board. With this small on-board storage, the device is expected to support expandable storage via a microSD card slot.
According to another report in Tech Times, the phone comes with a not-so-usual camera configuration. Both its rear and front cameras are said to be 5 megapixel shooters instead of the main camera being more powerful than the selfie camera.
In terms of connectivity, the device is rumored to support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and microUSB. It is also expected to run on Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Aside from Venture Beat, leakster Evan Blass also leaked that the LG K7 will be out sometime middle of the first quarter in 2016.
Among the U.S. mobile carriers, the Tech Times report points to T-Mobile as the likely carrier who will bring the new budget smartphone to the market. T-Mobile has previously included various entry level and mid-level LG smartphones in its line-up, so it will not be surprising if they do it again with the LG K7.
Pricing is yet unannounced but experts are saying that it should not exceed $200.
