Looking at it from a bigger perspective, the Heat are trying to close the gap in the third spot in the Eastern Conference as they are only 1.0 games behind the Atlanta Hawks. More than that, the Heat are only 0.5 games ahead of the Boston Celtics who are chasing them for that fourth spot in the playoffs.

This game is more than just important in the nostalgic point of view especially for the Heat.

For the Lakers, the Bryant farewell season continues and with only a few games remaining, expect Bryant to be very aggressive to finish off the season on a high note in what is an otherwise forgettable season for the franchise.

With one of the worst records in the league, the Lakers will start their rebuilding in the summer as they close out this campaign.

Nevertheless, the Lakers and Heat battle should be intense as the Heat and Wade will show the ultimate sign of respect by going head to head against Bryant and the Lakers.

In the first meeting between the two teams in Florida, the Heat dominated the game as they eventually won 101-88 and are hoping to get the same result when they play at the Staples Center.
