'Man of Steel': New Image Surfaces, Film to Feature World With Other Superheroes

The first full frontal image of Superman, played by Henry Cavill in this year's 'Man of Steel' film, has finally surfaced.

The image was revealed by Kellogg's and is part of the promotional campaign for the Warner Bros./Legendary film which will hit theaters on June 14.

"Man of Steel" will introduce an open world where other DC Superheroes such as Batman, Green Lantern and The Flash can appear. This strategy was taken by Marvel to create its very own movie universe for "The Avengers," which featured several heroes who had their own films including Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and the Hulk.

Entertainment Weekly recently sat down with Warner Bros. studio president Jeff Robinov, who revealed the plans to follow in Marvel's footsteps starting with this new Superman film.

When asked about a world in "Man of Steel" and if it could feature other superheroes Robinov replied, "I think you'll see that, going forward, anything can live in this world."

He was also asked if there would be references to Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy.

"Nolan's Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world they lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."

Rumors surfaced in March stating that Warner Bros. planned on making a Justice League film that would feature Christopher Nolan's Batman played by Christian Bale. However, those rumors were found to be false. Nolan's involvement as producer of 'Man of Steel' could be his final job as related to DC Comics superheroes.
