Melissa McCarthy News: Actress Talks Emotional Return to 'Gilmore Girls'

Fans may have been emotional after it was announced that a revival for "Gilmore Girls" was on the way and it turns out that Melissa McCarthy has joined her fans in welcoming back the hit series as she revealed that she was "sentimental" when she visited the set.

On Tuesday, McCarthy attended the TIME 100 Gala in New York and she talked about the shocking turn of events that led her to step back on set of the show. According to People, she first admitted that scheduling was making it difficult to give her a place in production but some things changed as the talks passed by and finally, she can confirm that she will make her comeback.

Not only did she drop by the set but she also saw the people she once worked with and it melted her heart. "I went back and visited about two weeks ago and saw the sets again and everybody on them. Oh, my God, it was so sad. I got so sentimental. And it felt like the greatest idea in the world. It was lovely," the 45-year-old said.

She also revealed that she has talked to some people who didn't watch the series when it aired from 2000-2007 but now, so many people are watching the seven seasons that she starred in.

As for the "Ghostbusters" reboot, she revealed that she had been friends with co-stars Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones, making it more fun for them to work together in the film due for release in July.
