Mercedes-AMG Project ONE News: The Hypercar Inspired by F1

The automobile market is churning with a lot of activity as companies reveal their upcoming releases, one after another. To keep up with the trend, Mercedes-Benz made good use of the Frankfurt Auto Show by introducing the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE hypercar.

The Mercedes-AMG Project ONE was heavily inspired by the company's Formula One (F1) race car. It features the 1.6-liter V6 engine that is capable of giving 1,000 horsepower, driving the car to speeds of beyond 217 miles per hour.

The exterior is made for speed as it features top of the line aerodynamics engineering, whereas the interior compliments with race-ready seats and steering wheel. Compared to the F1, however, the Mercedes-AMG Project One features some comfort for the driver as it is equipped with digital displays, as well as a dock for a smartphone in the center console.

Meanwhile, Ars Technica has dubbed the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE as the F1 that is legal on local road. Drivers of the hypercar can go from zero to 124 miles per hour in less than six seconds.

It also supports an eight-speed transmission as well as pneumatic valve springs. The suspension features a pushrod-setup, while the monocoque chassis is made of lightweight carbon. Overall, the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE is being marketed to those who would like to experience what the F1 feels like when driven on the road.

Mercedes-Benz will only produce 275 Project ONE cars. This means that consumers who would really like to have to have the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE will have to shell out $2.7 million as fast as they can.

There is no release date yet for the car but fans are expecting to have in their driveways by next year. Mercedes-Benz is also expected to churn out more details in the coming months.
