'Mortal Kombat X': Tri-Borg's Fourth Variation Turns Him into Cyber Sub-Zero

A new "Mortal Kombat X" development reveals the new character Tri-borg is actually a quad-borg or four characters in one.

Fans already know that Tri-borg is a combination of legacy characters Cyrax, Sektor, and Smoke. What they may not know is that the ninja robot is actually hiding one more variation.

This fourth variation is called Cyber Sub-Zero, also known as LK-520. The new ninja robot was revealed during the livestream of ESL "Mortal Kombat" Pro League Season 2 Finals held on Sunday, Jan. 24. The part where Cyber Sub-Zero appears can be wactched in the video below.

The fourth variant is not a re-skin, according to Kotaku. The publication posted a screenshot of Cyber Sub-Zero's moves, which are unique to this Tri-borg variation. Players who choose Tri-borg's fourth variant can use new moves such as Ice Ball and Ice Bomb.

As can be seen from the video below, the "Sub-Zero" moniker isn't for nothing. Much like the original Sub-Zero, Cyber Sub-Zero can freeze his opponents into ice as well. He is, in fact, considered as the cyborg version of Sub-Zero.

Tri-borg is part of the "Mortal Kombat X" Kombat Pack 2 DLC. He is joined by classic "Mortal Kombat" fighter Bo Rai Cho and two movie-based characters, Leatherface from the "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and Xenomorph from "Alien."

Those interested in buying the DLC will be happy to know that it will come with a number of freebies. Bonus content include the Brazil Pack, Goro, Kold War Pack, Kold War Scorpion skin, and the Apocalypse Pack. Most of these are previously released content, but the Apocalypse Pack is new.

Kombat Pack 2 comes out in March for $20. The DLC will be available to PlayStation and Xbox One owners. Unfortunately, the upcoming expansion pack will not be released to the PC.
