'Mr. Robot' Recap, Spoilers: Sam Esmail Says Tragic Moments in Season 1 Are Just the Beginning

The episode titled "eps1.5_br4ve-trave1er.asf" was rather a tense one to watch, at least for those who can relate to Elliot's (Rami Malek) mental struggles. The tech savant was pressured by Vera (Elliot Villar) and his cronies to free the drug dealer.

And a spoiler alert for those who missed last week's episode: Elliot's friend, confidant, and lover Shayla (Frankie Shaw) is dead.

Angela (Portia Doubleday) now seeks Elliot's approval on her plan to bring down the system that tortures her family. Near the end of his ordeal, Elliot still has to face the threats of Fernando's brother who wished to kill him so that the prison escape plan wouldn'y come to fruition.

And the big outburst was revealed at the final moments of the episode when Elliot asked Vera for his part of the deal that Shayla must be returned unharmed. Opposite to what he really expected, Elliot opened the trunk of the car with a dead Shayla lying on it.

After all these heavy scenes, series creator Sam Esmail suggested, that things are just about to heat up.

"I don't even consider what we're doing this season to be that huge. It was just the setup for the real story which really begins next season, which would have been Act 2 of our film," Esmail told the Huffington Post.

For the meantime, this week's episode titled "eps1.6_v1ew-s0urce.flv" indicates that Elliot is gone missing. Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) tries to pull the fsociety back together while Angela confronts with an old enemy.

"Mr. Robot" Season 1 airs Wednesday on USA.
