NBA News: Toronto Raptors' Kyle Lowry Leaves Game 2 Loss With Shin Contusion

Toronto Raptors' point guard Kyle Lowry suffered a left shin contusion in Game 2 of a first-round playoff match with Washington Wizard on Tuesday.

A report from Sports Illustrated indicated that with just about six minutes remaining in the fourth quarter with the Wizards already leading 104-89, the 29-year-old ran into Paul Pierce "as he attempted to initiate an offensive possession."

"Lowry's left leg made contact with Pierce's left leg, and he immediately doubled over in pain," Sports Illustrated wrote.

The 2015 NBA All-Star player limply left the court with only six points (3-for-10 shooting) and four assists.

"It's a little left knee, left shin contusion," Lowry told the press. "But I'll be OK."

The Toronto Star meanwhile said that Lowry's injury will be re-evaluated this week and there's a possibility that he would undergo some tests to determine the severity of the damage he got from the last game.

"He got cracked on his shin," Toronto coach Dwane Casey said. "I'm going to check with the trainer when I go back in."

"He's trying to get back from the time that he's had off from his back, when you're trying to get back into the groove and he struggles," Casey added. "I know Kyle; he isn't going to say 'it's my back,' but that's the difference."

Lowry has been missing nine games this season due to a lower back injury. According to ESPN's Brian Windhorst, if "this weren't the playoffs, there's a chance Lowry wouldn't be playing."

This week's loss to the Wizards put the Raptors in a 2-0 series standing. Both teams will face for Game 3 at Verizon Center on Friday.
