'Need for Speed: Payback' New Story Trailer News: First Look Shows Fancy Cars, Explosions, Revenge, and the Crew

Video game company EA has finally released a new preview for "Need for Speed: Payback."

The story-focused trailer gives the franchise's fans the first look at the upcoming game's themes, which are betrayal and vengeance. The 80-second video features clashing expensive cars, revving engines, explosions, and more.

"Need for Speed: Payback" is set in a sordid area of Fortune Valley, according to VideoGamer. Players can choose from three different characters: Tyler Ramirez, Sean McAlister, and Jessica Miller. Although they are distinctly different from one another, they will work together in the game to achieve a common goal, which is revenge.

In the game, Tyler is called The Racer, whose expertise includes drag and street racing. He will be the leader of "The Crew." Sean, better known as Mac, is called The Showman and is said to specialize in drifting and off-road races. Meanwhile, Jessica, or Jess, is called The Wheelman. She runs high-risk jobs, often illegal, but apparently never loses her calmness despite any dire situation she finds herself in.

The three will have to go through a series of street battles and heist missions as they try and defeat The House, the wicked cartel ruling over the city's casinos, felons, and even cops.

According to Tom's Hardware, aside from the already given single-player content, users will also get into several races, where they can make use of the in-game leaderboards to compare their performances against other players.

Players can also race against other drivers online through a mode called Speedlists, which was first introduced in the "Need for Speed" game that was released in 2015. It has five pre-determined racing events, wherein points will be awarded based on the player's rank after each race. Obviously, the player with the most number of points will win the match.

"Need for Speed: Payback" is coming out this Nov.10 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
