NeNe Leakes Engaged? 'Housewives' Star Addresses Ex-Husband Proposal Speculation (VIDEO)

NeNe Leakes recently opened up about her on-and-off relationship with her ex-husband Gregg, however the reality TV star is staying mum on the recent engagement speculation.

The 45-year-old "Real Housewives of Atlanta" star spoke with the "Today" show Thursday, just days after posting a series of tweets on social networking site Twitter which alluded to reports that Gregg, 51, had proposed. The couple divorced in 2011.

"Gregg and I are definitely back together," NeNe told NBC host Hoda Kotb who then pressed for answers to the engagement rumors.

"Well, I tweeted about our New Year's Eve," Leakes clarified before swiftly changing the subject. "I love Twitter, as a matter of fact, so please follow me on Twitter @neneleakes, I love it!"

The pair, who wed in Atlanta in 1997, split during season three of the hit Bravo reality TV show. Nene filed for divorce in Forsyth County on April 29, 2010 and the divorce was finalized in 2011.

The "New Normal" star acknowledged that her fans are anticipating her official statement on the engagement rumors although she insisted that they tune in to the current season of "Housewives." Critics suspect that the rumored engagement will likely be infused as a plot line for the show.

"But no, I think people can see on The Real Housewives of Atlanta that Gregg and I are together, and I think people want to know if we're going to the next level," Leakes said.

"Right, that's what I'm asking," co-host Meredith Vieira pressed.

"And, uh, you'll just have to tune in to The Real Housewives to see!" Leakes concluded.

In conjunction with the suspicious tweets, Leakes shared a series of pictures of a romantic setting which was laid out by Gregg in the couple's hotel room on New Year's Eve. The photos featured rose petals, champagne, strawberries and cream and candles.

"My answer was Yes," Nene tweeted while ringing in the New Year with her 51-year-old husband.

"IT'S ON NOW! #2013" another tweet read. "Look @ our nite cap! #new beginnings."
