Olivia Munn Joins 'New Girl' Cast

"Newsroom" star Olivia Munn has landed a role on Fox's hit comedy "New Girl," according to this week's reports.

The actress landed a multiple episode-arc in season 2 of the hit television series portraying Nick's new love interest, who is described as earthy and charming, Deadline has reported.

Munn will join the show's star Zooey Deschanel and become another of many guest-stars on "New Girl," which has included Carla Gugino, Rob Riggle, David Walton, Rob Reiner, and Jamie Lee Curtis, among others.

Many fans of the show are wondering if Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Deschanel) will end up together, but with the cast's addition of Munn, it appears as though the audience will have to wait longer. The episodes featuring Munn will begin airing in November.

In addition to being the "sexy, earthy, charming," new character, Nick's new girlfriend, portrayed by Munn, will be able to "hold her own with the group," according to Inquisitor.

On Twitter, Munn shared her excitement about the new role.

"Yay! Quick question- As [love] interests, does 'Make out' mean 'Read scripture together'? #SoExcited @markjakejohnson @NikkiFinke @NewGirlonFox," wrote the actress.

Alternately, as her acting career continues to blossom, Munn recently opened up about a rare condition she suffers from called trichotillomania, a disorder that causes her to pull out her eyelashes, in addition to clinical anxiety.

"I don't bite my nails, but I rip out my eyelashes," the 32-year-old actress told New York Daily News. "It doesn't hurt, but it's really annoying. Every time I run out of the house I have to stop and pick up a whole set of fake eyelashes."

Moreover, the starlet divulged that she grew up with an abusive stepfather, whom she referred to as "The Devil," according to Ocean Drive magazine.

"He was always say, 'You're not smart enough, pretty enough.' You have no talent,'" revealed Munn of her verbally abusive family member. "And it would knock me down, but it wouldn't keep me down."

Meanwhile, Munn is reportedly in a relationship with Swedish actor Joel Kinnaman.
