'Once Upon A Time' Season 6 News: New Literary Characters Expected to Join the Show

The upcoming "Once Upon A Time" Season 6 is expected to bring more friends and enemies to the characters of Storybrooke.

The upcoming season of "Once Upon A Time" is expected to bring new faces to the small screens.

"Once Upon A Time" Season 5 took fans to an interesting ride as the characters of Storybrooke went on an adventure to the Underworld. The new environment presented several challenges for the characters as they encountered faces of the past that needed to be reconciled.

With that, the upcoming "Once Upon A Time" Season 6 is expected to bring more friends and enemies to the characters of Storybrooke. Jennifer Morrison (Emma) revealed in a podcast that the new characters will be other literary characters. However, she did not elaborate further on which characters will be brought to life.

Aside from the new characters, Lana Parrilla (Regina) explained that "Once Upon A Time" Season 6 will present a lot of twists and turns. According to her interview with the Hollywood Life, several of the characters will find themselves in a new kind of adventure when "Once Upon A Time" returns.

Parrilla said, "The other heroes -- Hook, the Charmings and Zelena -- are pulled into a portal. They get pulled into this portal and enter this new world that we haven't seen. They'll encounter new characters and some new villains. There's like a patient who's in an institution and his overbearing warden. Those are just a few characters who are going to appear in season 6 for a period of time."

Meanwhile, Emma and Regina will have to find their way back to the others. Morrison also explained that this will put Emma in a very delicate situation. She said, "We're going to see Emma the most vulnerable she's ever been, which I think is the strongest she's ever been because it takes an incredible amount of strength to allow yourself to be vulnerable."

With that, fans can expect an interesting season ahead for the hit ABC series.
