OnePlus 2 Release Date News: Next-Gen Flagship from OnePlus to Boast LPDDR4 RAM
With only a few weeks left from its grand unveiling, a new recent update about the specs of OnePlus upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 2, surfaced this week and it indicates that the device will have an LPDDR4 RAM.
A report from GSMArena.com cited the update from the official OnePlus forum site. It was revealed that the new "flagship killer" will house the "latest and the greatest" RAM on the current market.
The company explained the importance of bigger RAM in delivering "faster loading times, smoother gameplay, and never-before-seen energy saving features."
Compared to the latter LPDDR3, the recent RAM version gets "twice the bandwidth performance" with the same power consumption profile of the former.
"All in all, LPDDR4 on the OnePlus 2 allows an even better user experience when using features such as slow-motion video, face recognition, and low-latency gaming--features that typically use a lot of bandwidth and can cause heavy lagging. Not only will the experience on the OnePlus 2 be smoother and sleeker, but your battery life will benefit as well," the company's statement reads.
On top of it all, the OnePlus 2 will get 1GB more amount of RAM than its predecessor. This puts the device above "anyone else" in terms of the mentioned spec.
The increase of RAM size could also utilize, "to its maximum potential," the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor that will be driving the OnePlus 2.
More details about the upcoming smartphone will be revealed during the official OnePlus 2 launching which will take place this July 27 at 7 p.m. PT/10 p.m. ET via a livestream event.
