'Orange Is The New Black' Season 4 Updates: Laverne Cox Shares Reaction Violent Assault Scene; Uzo Aduba on Crazy Eyes
Despite what people would think, it isn't always that an actor will find it easy to play a particular scene, especially if it hits right home in real life. In an interview, Laverne Cox, star of Netflix's hit jailbird drama "Orange Is The New Black" shares her reaction in doing this one particular scene that brought her to tears.
Cox, who plays Sophia Burset in the series, recently had a talk with People. She recalled that major conflict between her character and Selenis Leyva's Gloria. The tension ended up with the former getting assaulted and later on sent to the infirmary.
"When I read [my character] Sophia's assault in her own salon, that brought me to tears," Cox recalled. "I'm a lover not a fighter. I was bullied a lot as a kid, and I always ran from the bullies. A lot of that came back when I was in that scene and our director, Uta [Briesewitz], wanted me to be strong and sort of this defiant person and that's not really who I am. I run."

Despite her hesitation to play out the scene, Cox said that it is important for her to take on the story and tell it "truthfully."
Meanwhile, Uzo Aduba's fan favorite Crazy Eyes has been getting a lot of attention lately. In Aduba's conversation with the people from Entertainment Weekly, the critically-acclaimed actress admits having no idea why the viewers are rooting for Suzanne Warren. Personally, however, she adores each and every aspect of the Crazy Eyes, but most of all it's "her spirit of play" and "joy."
For those who missed it, Netflix released this week the latest trailer for the highly anticipated Season 4 of "Orange Is The New Black." Earlier reports indicated that the new installment will tackle on the backstories of some of the characters as well as introduce a handful of new characters.
