'Outlander' Season 2 Casting News, Update: Brand New Chapter to Feature 2 Wine Merchant Characters

Starz's hit fantasy TV drama series "Outlander" is already preparing for its timely return to the television for the second season as recent news broke out that the show is now casting two additional members for its growing cast.

The new season will see Stanley Weber playing the integral role of the character named Le Comte St. Germain, "a wine merchant and member of the French Court, who has a reputation for ruthlessness, as well as for dabbling in the occult," E! News.

E! noted that although Weber's character "doesn't come close to the treachery of Black Jack Randall (Tobias Menzies)," he will be a villain who will appear in the majority of the episodes that take place in Paris.

Speaking of Paris, the second season will be based on Diana Gabaldon's second book of the "Outlander" novel series titled "Dragonfly in Amber." The new plot will see Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire (Caitrona Balfe) in France.

There, they will meet Jared Fraser, Jamie's cousin. The character in question will be played by Robert Cavanah, a report from Access Hollywood said.

Executive producer Ronald Moore meanwhile told the people from TV Line a great deal about season 2.

"They're going to Paris, and they're going to be dealing with the French aristocracy. So you're already in a completely different planet than where we were with Season 1. Scotland is about heavy stone, rough wood, dark tabletops, smoke and candlelit rooms, and now you're in world of gilt, fine China, glassware and costumes that are made of silks and bright colors," Moore told TV Line.

"It's going to be a whole different tone, a whole different … playing the story as much more political. We're dealing with the Jacobite Rebellion. It's much more about deception, and lies within lies, and the gossips and the surroundings of Paris. And dinner parties, and going to the court of Louis the XV — and if you know those books, there's St. Germain, and there's Master Raymond, and there's more of an occult feeling to a lot of that stuff. [Plus], she's pregnant, and he's got the aftermath of Jack Randall," executive producer said.

"Outlander" Season 2 is slated to return to Starz later this year.
