'Pirates of the Caribbean 5' Spoilers: Captain Jack Sparrow Might Not Figure in it So Much

"Pirates of the Caribbean 5" will feature Captain Jack Sparrow taking the backseat in the storyline because another character will be the focus of the spotlight, based on the latest reports.

The past "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies have revolved around Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp), but part 5 of the sequel titled "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will focus more on Captain Salazar (Javier Bardem). Although Sparrow will still play an important role in the story, fans will see less of the quirky figure, according to Movie News Guide.

In "Pirates of the Caribbean 5," Bardem will rise to the call of a new villain who will come back as a ghost bent on revenge for his brother's death. He will return from the Devil's Triangle and will plot to kill all pirates, the report details.

Since Sparrow is the one controlling the Trident of Poseidon, he will be on Salazar's main radar, the report explains.

There are speculations that "Pirates of the Caribbean" part 5 will have a bit of difficulty drawing in viewers because the franchise has already explored many angles in the story. "Dead Men Tell No Tales" will reportedly serve as a soft reboot.

Meanwhile, Depp is reportedly done shooting his scenes for the fifth sequel and has revealed his perception of his character in the movie. He admitted that he initially did not understand how he was supposed to portray Captain Sparrow and he had to spend a lot of time in a sauna just to unwind and organize his thoughts, the Master Herald reports.

Some of the details on the upcoming movie are still unavailable, but what is known is that British actress Kaya Scoledario will appear in the film. Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush, and Brenton Thwaites will also come back to reprise their roles, the report relays.

"Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales" is directed by Joachim Ronnning and Espen Sandberg. The franchise's part 5 is scheduled to premiere on May 26, 2017.
