PS4 News: Games to Cost $70

The latest PS4 news points to the games for the system costing $70, according to Wedbush Securities Research Analyst Michael Pachter.

Pachter offered the information during a panel at SXSWm saying that games for both the new Xbox and PS4 will cost $10 more than those on the PS3 and Xbox 360.

Sony recently clarified pricing for PS4 games when SCEA President and CEO Jack Tretton explained that Sony "will offer games with prices ranging from $0.99 to the more traditional $60 range with the ability for players to sample games before they buy."

IGN pointed out that Tretton never gives a hard number leaving the possibility for Sony to charge past the $60 mark.

Sony recently released preview videos for many of the upcoming games for the PlayStation 4 console.

There are now videos on Sony's site that give PlayStation fans a first look at eight of the games that will launch for the system when it is officially released later this year.

There are videos of PS4 games such as Killzone: Shadow Fall, inFamous: Second Son, 'Destiny, Watch Dogs, Knack, DriveClub, The Witness, and Deep Down.

Destiny is being developed by Bungie, a company made famous for creating the wildly popular first person shooter Halo for the Xbox.

Bungie has made claims that this game will act on its own, making events happen that are not controlled or planned. Its gameplay will be like an always-online first-person shooter that will incorporate massive multiplayer online game elements.

Another exiting game that will be released for the PS4 is DriveClub. The title is being developed by Evolution Studios and will be focused on team-based racing. The company recently stated that is has collaborated with some of the best car companies to make the vehicles in the game as authentic as possible.
