Ravens Cheerleader Injured in Rough Fall Leaves Hospital (VIDEO)
A Ravens cheerleader was injured in a rough fall Sunday while the Baltimore football team was playing the Tennessee Titans. Fortunately, the woman was able be released on her own two feet after being hospitalized for several days.
The Ravens' cheerleader injury occurred during a routine. The dark-haired woman was thrown high into the air and was supposed to land safely, but unfortunately she fell onto her neck hard, according to fans.
"At the #Ravens game right now and a cheerleader has been down for 10-15 mins, getting taken off on stretcher. Thoughts and prayers for her," Birdland Central tweeted.
"Everyone please pray for a ravens cheerleader. I just watched her get put in the air and then dropped on her neck, and its pretty serious," another fan posted.
The woman was stabilized on the field by the team's medical personnel. A nearby photographer told CBS news that the woman was hyperventilating and crying as well.
The woman, whom the Baltimore Ravens have not identified, was hospitalized following the incident. After running some tests, physicians said she is fine. She was released Tuesday and was able to walk out of the hospital upright.
"The cheerleader was taken to a hospital for precautionary tests on her neck and back, and everything came back clear," a Ravens spokesman told The Baltimore Sun.
It has been a tough time recently for the Ravens' cheerleaders. 47-year-old Molly Shattuck, a former Ravens cheerleader, was indicted last week on two counts of third-degree rape, four counts of unlawful sexual conduct and three counts of providing alcohol to minors, Police Sgt. Paul Shavack told Fox news.
The woman had allegedly had sexual relations with a 15-year-old boy in August. She was released on $84,000 bond.
