'Reasons My Son Is Crying' Goes Viral: Charlie Has 'Frequent Meltdowns,' Says Dad

"Reasons My Son Is Crying" the blog documenting a baby upset for widely varying and ridiculous circumstances, has gone viral, spreading like wildfire across the internet. Along with each picture of the small child crying is a deadpan explanation highlighting the immaturity of children.

"Reasons My Son Is Crying" is run by Greg Pembroke, and the child who is most often crying on the blog is his 20-month-year old son, Charlie. Although his other son, 3-and-a-half-year-old toddler William, often cries, the 32-year-old father says there's not much you can do to prevent children from having meltdowns.

"Kids have meltdowns 20, 30 times a day," the Rochester father told Today.com. "You can drive yourself crazy or you can laugh and just accept it."

Charlie, who cries the most, is often shown with the most arbitrary reasons for his tears. Pictures of him sobbing with the captions "I wouldn't let him drown in this pond," "He dumped a full cup of water on this own face," and "He is in a giraffe costume" went viral quickly- 3,000 comments have appeared on his Tumblr page, and many more have expressed their amusement on Reddit, Buzzfeed, and other sites.

"I have done this to my children as well and now that they're 20, 16, and 7yrs old they look at those photos they laugh!" BC68 wrote on Gawker. "They get a kick out of it every time!"

"Is it true that boy babies are fussier than girl babies? This baby makes me think so," Graby Sauce added.

Pembroke has been surprised by all the responses and support.

"I was just trying to have fun with the kids and with my friends," he told Today.com. "I didn't expect people to relate to it as much as they did."

Despite the various pictures of Charlie and William crying, their dad, a part-time radio station account executive, says they are quite polite much of the time, and that they have fun as a family.

"They're really polite boys. They just have their frequent meltdowns," he said.
