Litchfield Deals with Overcrowding of Inmates

The female-dominated prison drama "Orange is the New Black" is back with an all-new season (season 4) on Netflix.

Things ended pretty badly for one of the show's main character, Alex Vause (Laura Prepon) in Season 3. NetflixLife noted that she was trapped inside the prison's greenhouse along with Kubra's hitman, Aydin, who fooled people into believing he was a jail guard.

Many wondered if Alex's character will continue for Season 4 especially since she was not seen on the new trailer of "Orange is the New Black." Many speculations claimed that she may not appear on any of the episodes. However, a first look at the new season revealed that Alex lives for another season of the top-rated series.

The same report revealed that when Vause was being strangled to death by Aydin, fellow inmate Lolly came to her rescue. Lolly was the prisoner whom Alex initially thought was the person sent to kill her.

However, Lolly ended seriously beating the hitman pretending to be a jail guard that she and Alex thought he was already dead. When Alex came back to bury his body, she discovered that he was still alive but only suffered a broken neck and got paralyzed. With the help of Frieda, Alex and Lolly cut Aydin's body and burried these on the garden.

Piper becoming more manipulative

Meanwhile, the other main character of the show, Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) is slowly becoming the person the prison molded her to become. Telegraph mentioned that staying in Litchfield changed Piper a lot. She has reportedly become "more manipulative" and overconfident about herself.

If the relationship of the core couple, Alex and Piper, are still on the rocks, Flickering Myth observed a budding romance between Crazy Eyes (Uzo Aduba) and Kukudio (Emily Althaus). The two decided not to go back to the prison after the prisoners were able to escape through a whole on the fence. However, Crazy Eyes found out that Kukudio was way crazier than her.

Too many inmates, so little space

Aside from these conflicts, Telegraph added that the prison is also dealing with overcrowding since new female prisoners were added to the detention facility. The first meal of the day wa even moved to as early as 4:30 a.m. to allow every single inmate eat breakfast.

All 13 episodes of Season 4 have been added on Netflix and fans can now binge watch using a subcsription on the streaming service website. It would be exciting to see how new characters will blend with the old inmates.
