'RiME' News: Creative Contest Is Underway

Ever since "RiME" was introduced to the gaming community, people were already enchanted by its vibrant environment and soothing animation. As such, fans who are inspired by the few glimpses of the game can now share their creativity with the rest of the world and have a shot at a prize.

In the game's official website, community manager Tim "Dariuas" Slager has announced a creative contest that pits fans against each other for a friendly sharing of any art related to "RiME." The art piece can be practically anything, from paintings, music and anything else that catches one's fancy.

As far as the rules are concerned, interested participants will need to create their own Grey Box accounts in order to enter the contest. This will be important as they'll be using the said accounts when posting their entries on the submission forum. As such, only one entry is allowed for each ID.

The judging criteria for the submitted pieces of art are as follows: Creativity (35%); Emotional Conveyance (30%); Uniqueness/Originality (20%); Complexity (7.5%); Skill (7.5%).

There will be three sets of prizes for those who are picked to be the cream of the crop. Amazon gift cards are awarded, with the third place getting $500, the second place netting $750, while the first place takes home $1,500.

One of the submitted fan art is a bigger fox plush toy, depicting the fox that guides the kid through the unfamiliar environment. Another one is a 3D environment inspired by "RiME's" theme, showing a trail with what seems to be cherry blossoms at the side and the vast horizon beyond.

The creative contest started last April 7 and will be running until May 17, giving enough time for those who are interested to join. The winners will then be announced on or before June 1.

"RiME" does not have a specified launch yet, but can be expected on the PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One, Steam and Nintendo Switch within May 2017.
