Sadie Robertson Takes A Social Media Hiatus To Focus On Faith And Family

"Duck Dynasty" star Sadie Robertson has millions of followers on her social media accounts, but she has decided to give them up temporarily in order to strengthen her faith and bond with her family and friends.

The 19-year-old TV personality, model, and inspirational speaker posted a video on Instagram (@legitsadierob) and announced that she will be foregoing her social media presence since life has gotten "crazy."

She said that she needs to "get away" from it all and invest in her family, friendships, and relationship with God. "So that's what I'm gonna do," she declared. "I'm going to keep my eyes off the screen."

Robertson also encouraged her fans to do the same thing. "If you are being drained, hurt, consumed, or felt insecure because of social media then delete it. It is not life... it's just where you talk about life. Go make your memories. If you want to write a letter to me, send [it] to the Duck Commander office."

She also shared some Bible verses that people can check out if they are feeling fearful (Exodus 14:14, Psalms 46, Lamentations 3:47, Isaiah 41:13), insecure (Zephaniah 3:17, Song of Solomon 4:7, Psalms 139:13), troubled (Psalm 22:4, Isaiah 40:29, 2 Corinthians 12:9, Psalm 36), stressed (Psalms 23 & Hebrews 10:35), and alone (Deuteronomy 31:8).

Her social media hiatus will definitely make fans miss Robertson, especially since "Duck Dynasty" aired its final episode on March 29 this year. But they need not fret, because Robertson promised she'll be back on her birthday, June 11, when she finally turns 20.

Earlier, Robertson decided to keep her romantic life out of the spotlight as well. Last year, she had two relationships that she shared about on social media. But after she broke up with Blake Coward and Trevor Knight, Robertson realised that her fans took it just as hard, if not more, than she did.

She has since made the decision to keep her relationship status under wraps. "It always seems like a good idea until the breakups happen, then everything gets awkward! When your breakup is trending on Twitter, you know life has gotten weird," she told Fox News. "I love being able to relate to girls and be a good example, but I've learned that I have to be patient and really build a solid foundation with myself in my heart before sharing it with the world."
