Samsung Galaxy Note 8 News: On the Success of Sales and the Foldable Smartphone

As one of the most highly anticipated devices of this year, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has amassed quite the following after some details of it were leaked to the smartphone market. Boasting some of the highest specs seen on a mobile phone, Samsung's mobile chief coordinator Dong-jin Koh is reportedly confident that their flagship phablet will do good in the market.

"Since the unpack event last month, many business partners and our buyers have told us that the initial response (for the Galaxy Note 8) is good," Koh said during a media conference in Seoul, as reported by The Korean Herald. "China is one of Samsung's most important markets... and we may need more time to regain the trust and love of Chinese consumers, but I think there will be good results."

So far, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 has surpassed the pre-orders for its predecessor. The numbers indicate that the Note 8 is now at 650,000 pre-orders in the first five days since it was made available for consumers last Aug. 24. Although the final release will not be until Sept. 21, some of the devices are already on their way to their respective owners, 9to5Google reports.

Meanwhile, the Associated Press has recently revealed that while they are doing their best to meet the demand of the consumers, Samsung has teased that a foldable phone might be released next year. Specifically, the smartphone is said to have a foldable display. Koh said that they are encountering problems at the moment, but did not elaborate as to what the issues might be. However, the tech giant has already set the goal to launch the unknown device next year.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch Infinity display, IP68 certification, 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB and 256 GB of internal storage, dial 12-megapixel camera, and Snapdragon 835. It is now available for pre-order starting at the hefty price tag of $930.
