Samsung Galaxy S3 is Keeping the Home Button
Contrary to some of the recent rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S3 will feature a home button, according to a recent report in Korean Digital Daily, a South Korean newspaper.
The publication reported that its sources have confirmed that the device will have Samsung's accustomed home button that is featured on some of its most popular handsets.
Another rumor that surfaced this week is that the Samsung Galaxy 3 will feature the same 5 column layout as the new Galaxy Note smartphone-tablet hybrid.
Most other smartphones including the iPhone have a four column layout.
The unveiling of the Samsung Galaxy S3 is expected to happen on May 22 in London. That date originated from an Official Samsung Press invitation that leaked last week.
The image in the invitation showed a smartphone that featured a sleek metal casing that tapers and bends backwards along no micro USB port.
Samsung has not confirmed any news regarding a release date for the handset.
However, the company did state that the Samsung Galaxy S3's launch and unveiling will take place close together unlike the launch of the Galaxy S2.
With the Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich operating system rolling out on many new devices, the next-generation Galaxy S device will probably use the software as well.
Most rumors point to the device featuring an OLED display that is larger than 4.5-inches, a quad-core processor, a Gorilla Glass 2 display making it super resistant to scratches, wireless charging, ceramic casing, and 4G LTE.
Samsung plans to pit the device directly against its greatest competitor, Apple, when it releases the next generation iPhone between the months of June and Oct.
The new iPhone is rumored to be launching during that time.
