Samsung Z1 Tizen Release Date Arrives

Samsung launched the Z1, which is its first-ever smartphone with Tizen operating system.

The Linux-based Tizen OS is owned by Samsung. The company aspires to make Tizen an alternative for Android. Tizen is highly similar to Androidwith the placement of icons such as the drop down menu.

There is a Tizen store where users can download Tizen apps that were created for the OS. However, if the Samsung Z1 users want to use Android apps, it is possible with the integration of an Android app support. Reports say that the Z1 works smoothly with Tizen.

The OS is not only used for mobile phones but also for the Samsung Gear S watch, automobiles and television.

As for its external features, the device looks similar to Samsung Galaxy and although it has metallic sides it does not stand out from the rest of Samsung models.

The Samsung Z1 sports a 4-inch WVGA PLS screen with 480x800 pixel resolution. It can produce a bright and sharp display but there are noticeable smudges that make slanted viewing angles a bit of a problem.

The camera has 3.1 megapixels therefore users can expect not so sharp images but with enough light it can still produce good pictures. Users can still take selfies with the Samsung Z1 since it has a VGA front facing camera, which means that it only has 640x480 pixels with 16 or 256 colors.

As for the hardware, the ZI runs with Spreadtrum SC7727S chipset containing 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and Mali 400 GPU. The device has a 768 MB of RAM and 4 GB internal memory that can be expanded with its microSD card up to 32 GB. The good news is there are no lags experienced during Internet surfing and while using apps like Facebook and WhatsApp.

When it comes to the Samsung Z1 software, the device comes with an AntiVirus protection, Ultra Power Saving Mode for battery life extension, free access to Club Samsung, and free Hungama music for three months.

Samsung T1 Tizen is available in India for a price of INR 5,700 or $92.
