Sarah Jessica Parker 'Divorce' News: Sex and the City Actress to Star and Produce HBO Comedy
After the successful "Sex and the City," the show's lead actress Sarah Jessica Parker is back again to work with HBO as a "potential" star and producer for its upcoming comedy "Divorce."
The network is currently finalizing deals with Parker to be the show's star and executive producer, according to Deadline.com.
With the green light for its pilot episode production already nearing, "Divorce" is a "story of a very, very long divorce." The show is written by British writer-actress Sharon Horgan and its setting would be in New York where the 49-year-old actress lived.
The Hollywood Reporter meanwhile wrote the background story of the upcoming title:
"Divorce centers on a middle-aged woman (Parker), who, influenced by her two recently single friends, impulsively brings up the idea of divorce with her husband but then can't decide whether to actually go through with it — until her husband discovers the affair she's been having and calls the marriage off."
As executive producer, Parker will produce "Divorce" via her Pretty Matches Productions banner. Joining her as showrunners are Aaron Kaplan, Paul Simms, and Alison Benson.
"Divorce" will be "The First Wives Club" star's major latest TV comeback. She had appeared for recurring roles in shows like "Glee" (on its fourth season) and more recently in "Busted."
The CAA-repped actress meanwhile is expected to appear in a lead role for an upcoming romcom by Swedish director Ella Lemhagen titled "All Roads Lead to Rome."
