'Shameless' Season 8 Spoilers: Fiona to Confront Nessa's Girlfriend

While Fiona (Emily Rossum) is expected to further grow in several aspects of her life in the upcoming season 8 of "Shameless," the recently released sneak peek on the character has teased that she will be getting fiercer when the occasion calls for it.

After purchasing a building and converting it into an apartment in the season 7 finale of "Shameless" last year, Fiona will be a full-fledged landlady when the Showtime series returns for its season 8 next month. However, just like other landlords, Fiona will have to deal with the hassles of having to chase her tenants who refuse to pay.

In the recently released sneak peek for "Shameless" season 8, though, Fiona will be seen confronting the girlfriend of her favorite tenant and would-be best friend, Nessa (Jessica Szohr). While it remains unclear what prompted Fiona to confront Mel (Perry Matfield), it is apparent that she wants her to know that she can give her a good fight.

"I've been trying to be nice, rise above my station in life, but if you want to go ghetto on me, I will beat you at that game every f**king time," Fiona is heard telling Mel in the sneak peek.

While Nessa is described as Fiona's upcoming lesbian best friend in the series when Szohr was announced to join the cast of the popular Showtime comedy-drama series earlier this year, some could not help but suspect that the two would be more than just friends later on in the story. For many fans, it's high time that Fiona got into another relationship in "Shameless," and the upcoming season 8 may be the first time for her to engage in a same-sex love affair.

Could the confrontation between Fiona and Mel in the teaser have something to do with a brewing love triangle? Will Mel be jealous of Fiona over her friendship with Nessa?

Find out when "Shameless" season 8 airs on Showtime beginning this Nov. 5.
