Sigourney Weaver Sees Ghosts Again in 'Red Lights'

Sigourney Weaver is no stranger to films on paranormal activity. At the Sundance Film Festival premiere of her new movie, "Red Lights," on Sunday, Weaver opened up about seeing ghosts again.

"I probably don't believe in fairies and ghosts, but I certainly believe that people have souls," Weaver said in an interview, The Associated Press reported. "I think that, and that there's more going on around us than we can explain in a rational way."

In the Rodrigo Cortes directed film, Weaver stars opposite fellow veteran actor Robert De Niro and Elizabeth Olsen as a lifelong skeptic of the supernatural who works to disprove false claims of paranormal activity.

In preparing for her role, Weaver told AP she was surprised by "what a huge business psychic entertainment was."

Weaver, 62, starred in Ridley Scott's 1979 hit film "Alien," where she played the only survivor of a spaceship crew being stalked by a vicious creature. The film's 1986 follow up earned her a best-actress Academy Award nomination.

Weaver also starred in the 1984 supernatural blockbuster comedy "Ghostbusters" with Dan Akroyd and Bill Murray. Weaver hopes to reprise her role in a follow up, but isn't sure it will get the green light.

"I'd love to work with everybody again," Weaver said, AP reported. "I think, mmm, at this point, I think it's probably less than 50-50. That's what I think."
