'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC News: With No Episode 7, What Else Is In Store For Players?

When Electronic Arts and DICE recently revealed that they are not bringing any "The Force Awakens" content to "Star Wars Battlefront," a lot of fans were disappointed. Given the movie's popularity and its ability to successfully bring back "Star Wars" fans to the fold, many loyal viewers thought that they would see the heroes and villains in Episode 7 in the game.

To appease fans, however, EA and DICE have released initial information about the content that they will bring to the game, through paid DLC or expansion packs, as well as free DLC.

The first free DLC that came to the game was the Battle of Jakku. According to a report in Gotta Be Mobile, the game will be receiving its first expansion pack in early 2016, which will be the first of four that EA and DICE will be releasing.

Content that will be included in the expansion packs include "20 new pieces of galactic tech including weapons, vehicles, and Star Cards for both Rebels and Imperials," and "4 more heroes and villains for you to fight as or against."

It will also feature "16 additional multiplayer maps" with new locations and "4 exciting new game modes." When these expansion packs will arrive and how they will be grouped have not been revealed.

Aside from paid content, the game is also set to receive free updates like the Battle of Jakku. The company said that they will be bringing more of "what you love about the game" such as new maps, Star Cards, and this will be for free. According to the report, this will likely come with point updates.

A Season Pass is available for $50 which will bring the player all the content, plus some more freebies. These include a "Shoot First" emote that can be used in the game as well as access to the expansion packs at least two weeks before the official release.
