'Star Wars Battlefront' DLC: Upcoming Add-On Content Should Meet Fan Expectations

Developer EA DICE has shown that it is listening to fan feedback and requests. A representative of the company has confirmed a "Star Wars Battlefront" DLC is in the pipeline and news about it should come out soon.

Lead Designer at EA DICE Dennis Brännvall's attention was directed to a Reddit thread of players' wish list for "Star Wars Battlefront" via Twitter. The thread is filled with fan requests for future add-on content, including true space battles with boardable ships and a Galactic Conquest mode.

His response was surprisingly good news to fans. He told the Twitter user that he has read the Reddit thread already. In fact, he reads the thread every day.

"@Potatoavocado1 haha daily! I'm not doing my job right if I'm not reading what our players are saying," tweeted Brännvall.

Regarding any upcoming DLC and when EA DICE plans to announce details about it, Brännvall said DLC news should come soon; however, it wasn't up to him.

"We will communicate soon I hear. It's not up to me sadly," he tweeted.

As to what this upcoming DLC could contain, a "Star Wars Battlefront" forum user offers the answer. In a thread with the hashtag "#soloplayersmatter" and pushing for expansion to single player and offline gameplay in the game, forum user Caleb shared what he learned from an online chat with EA customer support.

Caleb told the representative that in the forums they have been told that developers were looking at adding online game modes to offline gameplay. He then asked if EA could provide him any updates regarding this.

"The developers are working on it and they have progressed quite a bit," said the EA representative.

Although this is far from an official confirmation, it does suggest that a single player expansion will soon be on its way to the game. EA had previously conducted a survey soliciting feedback on "Star Wars Battlefront," but it did not allude to single player campaign.
