'Star Wars: The Last Jedi' Plot Rumors: Sequel's Runtime Is Rumored to Be the Longest in the Franchise
While most of the plot details for "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" are still being kept under wraps, new reports have been circulating regarding the film's runtime. And it is said to be the longest one in the franchise yet.
Screen Rant reported that online ticket booking website CineWorld specified that the eighth film in the Skywalker saga is going to be 150 minutes long. While this has not been confirmed by Lucasfilm or Disney, various ticket booking sites have also posted the same runtime.
However, the latest update from Screen Rant says that CineWorld has removed the runtime on their website following the reports. On the other hand, AMC Theaters, Cineplex, and Fandango are still listing the movie with the 150-minute runtime.

If this is true, then it surpasses the runtime of "Attack of the Clones," which was at 142 minutes. The latest film in the franchise, which was "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," was just 133 minutes long. The film with the shortest runtime, at only 121 minutes, is "A New Hope," which was the first installment.
In other news, Domnhall Gleeson, who plays the character General Hux, claims to have been so shocked by the movie's script that he felt he needed to speak with writer and director Rian Johnson in order to confirm the story he had read would really be the basis for the film.
"When I read it I needed to talk to him, and I think that's always a good sign," the actor told Collider. "I was like, 'Wow there's some stuff there which is kind of—not scary but different to what I expected,' and that's a really, really nice thing. I think that's a really positive thing, I think that's important for those films that we don't repeat ourselves," he added.
Gleeson added that when he talked to Johnson, the director seemed very sure with the direction where he wanted to take the film.
"Star Wars: The Last Jedi" opens in cinemas on Dec. 15.
