The five-second clip from Cartoon Network has got fans talking about "Steven Universe" season 2. Based on the leaked promo for the episode titled "Barn Mates," Peridot is seen giving Lapis Lazuli a present, leaving fans wondering how the latter managed to un-fuse from Jasper.
Malachite, the hate-fused version of Lapis and Jasper, was last seen at the bottom of the ocean. Because un-fusing entails too much complication for just a single episode, Movie Pilot speculated that there may be other episodes that will go before "Barn Mates."

Most probably, "Barn Mates" will simply focus on how Peridot's relationship with Lapis will evolve. "Steven Universe" season 2 may tackle redemption for Peridot as she transforms from a villain to an ally, the publication adds.
Steven played an important role in Peridot's transformation as he treated her like a person rather than just a victim. He could also be the main reason why she joined the Crystal Gems, and the same could happen to Lapis. Although the latter does not really believe in the Crystal Gems' mission, she has sacrificed a lot just to protect Steven, the report details.
The new teaser hints that Lapis may eventually join the Crystal Gems, especially if Steven will be able to convince her. Her reason for un-fusing from Jasper may also be revealed when the animated series returns.
As of now, not much makes sense in the plot, and there are still a lot of possibilities and speculations on what happened and what will happen to the characters. Fans will have to stay tuned to the animated series to find out.
