'Suits' season 5 news, cast, spoilers: Will Mike and Rachel break up? Can Harvey still save the day?
The first half of "Suits" season 5 ended with surprising cliff-hangers, as one of the most dreadful events transpired — Mike (Patrick J. Adams) was arrested for practicing law without credentials. Many understand that this situation will consequently trigger a string of incredibly challenging times for the firm, as well as for Mike's relationship with Rachel (Meghan Markle).
The most possible effect would be Mike and Rachel's wedding ultimately being canceled, but whether or not they will break up is still unconfirmed. There are two possible scenarios as to where the couple's relationship could head to. First would be Rachel feeling too much pressure from keeping Mike's secret that can lead to her abandoning him during this rough time. Furthermore, if Rachel's parents find out about Mike's arrest, they will definitely stop Rachel from being with Mike. On the other hand, this unfortunate event can also make Mike and Rachel's relationship stronger, if she chooses to stand by his side throughout the whole ordeal.
Aaron Korsh, senior executive producer and showrunner, recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter about the fate of the couple, "It will give them an opportunity to understand conflict but also to be there for each other. Ultimately, it will have a big impact on their relationship. The truth of the matter is I am not 100 percent sure what the ultimate fate of their relationship in these last six is going to be."
Mike's situation will also become more difficult as it is followed by Harvey's (Gabriel Macht) resignation from the firm, in an attempt to save it. It can be expected that Jessica (Gina Torres) will be blaming him for what will befall the firm due to Mike's arrest. Furthermore, Daniel (David Costabile) and Jack (John Pyper-Ferguson) are on the verge of taking over Pearson Specter Litt, which Harvey felt he can impede once he resigns.
As for now, fans of the USA drama will have to wait as there is no set date yet for the return of season 5B of Suits in 2016.
