'Suits' Season 5 News: Mike Up Against The 'Ruthless' Anita Gibbs

It looks like Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams) will be having a hard time getting out of prison with the coming of the "ruthless" government prosecutor Anita Gibbs (Leslie Hope) in the second half of the fifth season of USA Network's hit legal drama TV series, "Suits."

In the new promo video for the Season 5B premiere, titled "Blowback," a voiceover from Anita eerily warns of the hopeless fate that awaits the fake lawyer.

"Maybe you think you've committed a victimless crime ... you haven't," the character said as scenes of Mike getting booked in prison were shown. "You committed fraud every time you picked up the phone, mailed the letters, signed your name or appeared in court."

As if getting him in jail isn't enough, Anita went on to warn that in case Mike thinks that his people are coming hankering to bail him out of the sticky situation, "you [Mike] have another thing coming."

In his latest interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Adams said that the prosecuting attorney is definitely a character that fans should lookout for. Regardless of how the viewers see her, perhaps as a villain who goes after the characters they love, Adams said that underneath it all "she's doing something in the right."

Besides Gibbs, followers of the series are also excited to find out who snitched Mike to the authorities.

According to what series creator Aaron Korsch said to THR, it could be anyone.

"It could have been a friend, foe, a neutral party or someone who has never even met Mike," the showrunner said.

The upcoming episodes left of the current season won't just be about Mike, however. From what he said to the media outlet, fans will find the entire firm under hot water when the show resumes on-air.

"All these characters have to completely rally together against the sort of mountain of evidence that is going to present itself at trial," the showrunner said.

"Suits" Season 5 airs Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
