'Tekken X Street Fighter' Rumors: Release Date Set for 2016?
Bandai Namco is reportedly planning to release its long-awaited "Tekken X Street Fighter" by 2016.
Japanese video game director, Katsuhiro Harada, who heads the development of crossover fighting game, "Tekken X Street Fighter," which combines Bandai Namco's "Tekken," and Capcom's "Street Fighter," is said to be looking at a 2016 release date for the long-awaited title.
"Teken X Street Fighter," which was initially announced during the 2010 Comic-Con International at San Diego, has been confirmed as having been well into development this year and may finally be launched sometime in 2016.

The combined fighting video game will feature the "Tekken" franchise's 3D fighting game engine and is slated for release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
Players' favorite characters, including Ryu and Jin Kazama, have already been featured on a promotional poster showed during the 2010 San Diego Comic-Con.
In 2012, Namco polled its Facebook fans for their choice of characters for "Tekken X Street Fighter's" roster among 66 "Street Fighter" characters and 56 "Tekken" characters, with fans selecting five of their favorites from each game series. The game was announced as 10 percent complete that year.
"Tekken X Street Fighter" is not the first collaboration between Capcom and Bandai Namco. In a 2005 crossover exclusive only to Japan gamers, they released the "Namco x Capcom" for PlayStation 2, featuring a number of characters from their "Darkstalkers" and "Soul" video game series.
With "Tekken X Street Fighter" reported as nearing completion, Franchise Herald has quoted Harada as saying the crossover game's launching will be a surprise to fans and players.
Currently, details about the elusive title have yet to be released as both game developers are keeping information under tight wraps.
In the meantime, Bandai Namco is training players' focus on "Pokemon Tournament" and its upcoming "Tekken 7," while continuing to work on "Tekken X Street Fighter" before officially handing it over to the gaming public.
