The Band Perry's Kimberly Perry Is Engaged
Kimberly Perry, the lead singer of The Band Perry, is engaged to baseball star J.P. Arencibia, reports said Tuesday.
The "If I Die Young" singer and the Toronto Blue Jays lead catcher allegedly got engaged beneath Perry's favorite oak tree at her family home in Greenville, Tennessee.
Together for over a year-and-a-half, Arencibia proposed to Perry knowing that the singer one said, "If I get proposed to in this life, I hope it happens underneath this tree," according to The Tennessean.
The carefully planned proposal included many other surprises for the 30-year-old singer, such as receiving a letter and a gift from her family right before Arencibia popped the question.
"I got to read the letter and get dressed and put on my grandfather's bracelet, Perry explained, according to The Tennessean. "I came back out on the front porch and he was standing there and he got down on one knee. It was perfect."
As for the engagement ring, the diamond sparkler is emerald-cut, which Perry said is her "absolute favorite."
Fortunately, Perry's family approves of her fiancé, including her brothers and band mates, Neil and Reid Perry.
The Band Perry remains one of country music's hottest groups. They are best known for their songs "If I Die Young," "All Your Life," and "Done," among others.
Meanwhile, Perry joins several other celebrities who have recently gotten engaged.
Last week, Kaley Cuoco confirmed her whirlwind engagement to tennis star Ryan Sweeting.
The engagement was confirmed last week, and after just three months of dating, it came as a surprise- even to Cuoco.
"[Sweeting] actually started a little fight with me and threw me off," the actress revealed to Entertainment Weekly. "I was like, 'Oh my God, things aren't great.'"
Later in the night, the athlete turned things around when he brought out a diamond ring.
"He surprised me at the end of the night… [when] he popped the ring out, it was amazing," Cuoco added.
